David Solomon, CEO of The Goldman Sachs Group Inc., strongly opposes remote work. Moreover, Solomon does not think the nature of work nor the culture of the company is compatible with a virtual work structure.
In February, during a conference Solomon asserted to attendants that this model cannot be normalized, saying “I do think for a business like ours, which is an innovative, collaborative apprenticeship culture, this is not ideal for us.”
With only 10% of employees reporting to their desks in 2020, Solomon wants to put an end to remote work. He has stated his intentions to implement return to office plans back in September. In June, the New York employees received a memo demanding they report to their desks by June 14.
