Cure Hydration Earns $2.6 Million in Seed Capital

Cure Hydration, a company offering a healthier alternative to sports drinks, earned over $2 million in capital. The funding round was led by NYC-based Lerer Hippeau Ventures with additional participation from M3 Ventures, also based in New York. Unlike other sports drinks, Cure products do not use sugar.

20 ounces of another popular sports drink contain up to 36 grams of sugar. Coconut water is Cure’s healthier alternative, as well as a range of other organic ingredients. Using the World Health Organization’s Oral Rehydration Solution, and a 100 percent vegan recipe, the company was able to create a range of naturally-flavored powders. These include the cleverly named Ruby Riot Grapefruit and Laser Focused Macha.
