Biden Tabs Former Fed Chair Janet Yellen for Treasury Secretary

President-Elect Joe Biden plans to nominate former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen to lead the U.S. Treasury. If approved by the Senate, Yellen will become the first woman to serve as Treasury Secretary in 231 years. 

Yellen, 74, is an experienced economist who was the Fed chairwoman between 2014 to 2018. She also served as the Vice-Chair of the central bank between 2010 to 2014. The Yale University graduate has over two decades worth of experience under her belt acting as an economic policymaker.
