Dunkin Brands in Talks to be Acquired by Inspire Brands

This week, it was announced that US-based Restaurant holding company Dunkin Brands Group Inc. is in talks to go private. According to the reports, the potential buyer is said to be Inspire Brands, Inc. and the buyout is estimated to be valued at $8.8 billion, an approximate 20% premium above Dunkin’s closing price last week Friday. Dunkin Brands has confirmed it has held talks with Inspire Brands about a deal, but did not disclose a potential deal price.

Dunkin Brands launched in 2004 and is headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts. The company owns two of the most recognizable restaurant chains in the US, coffee and donut chain DD IP Holder LLC (Dunkin) and ice cream and cake specialty chain BR IP Holder LLC (Baskin Robbins). Dave Hoffmann is the CEO of Dunkin Brands.
