Agragene Raises $4 Million in Series A Funding

Agricultural technology company, Agragene, has raised an additional $4 million in series A funding. The San Diego-based company is developing eco-friendly alternatives to chemical pesticides. Aragene’s new line of products, as well as the increasing global push toward pesticide-free crop, has investors excited.

The series A funding round was led by Ospraie Ag Science (OAS), the venture-related arm of Ospraie Management. Carl Casale, Senior Agricultural Partner at the New York-based firm, spoke at length about a pesticide-free future. “The world is increasingly more environmentally conscious,” he told The Buttonwood Tree. “Agragene has this ‘Knock Out’ product, it’s effective without the use of pesticides.”
