Remitly, a Washington state-based fintech company, raised $85 million in Series F funding last week, bringing its current valuation over $1.5 billion. The round is led by the payment service provider PayU. Further funding comes from Generation Investment Management, DN Capital, Stripes, Owl Rock Capital, Princeville, Top Tier, and Threshold Ventures. Many of these firms credit Remitly’s socially inclusive ethos for their continued investment.
