Madison Dearborn held its first close of its latest flagship, Madison Dearborn Capital Partners VIII, on July 23. The Chicago-based firm has secured more than $4 billion in commitments for the fund, according to multiple filings with the SEC.
If the fund’s target is reached, it will be the second largest fund raised by Madison Dearborn. The firm’s largest is Fund V, which raised $6.5 billion in 2006.
